Universal Studios

!!! So a lot of you on my last blog asked me to do some tips and advice for when you go to Universal. So here it is! Hope you enjoy. Please comment and share(:

The famous Universal Studios located in Orlando, Florida and Hollywood, California, Singapore, and Japan.
A great place that has great rides and great food.

TIPS:
  • Bring your own food and drink if you want! Food is a bit pricey so if you want to save some extra bucks for some merchandise I would recommend bringing some of your own water bottles etc. because you can do that!
  • Try to keep the backpacks small. On most rides they do not allow you to bring your bags with you, so you have to rent out a locker. The first hour is free, which covers your whole ride experience. The lockers are small-medium so a big backpack won't fit that well.
  •  Wear thin clothing, if you're visiting during the hot months. It will be really hot! Especially waiting in line with so many people!
  • Wear comfortable clothes! A lot of times that I go to Universal I want to look good because I will see a lot of people there and even make new friends, but try to wear comfortable clothes that you also like because I promise you, you do not want to be uncomfortable for all those hours walking and standing.
  • Go single rider! If you're okay with separating from your party for a quicker line wait, go single rider! Single rider lines are always quicker than regular because mostly everyone wants to go with their party.
  •  Check the weather! Always check the weather for the days your going to be at the park. No one is ever fond of the rain when they're riding a ride or in line waiting. So check and bring ponchos if it will rain.
ADVICE:
  • Buy your tickets in advance! You will save money. They give you special discounts and offers when you buy online.
  • Try to find coupons. Whenever your in a touristic place like International Drive, you always find coupon centers that have coupons for food, tickets, etc.
  • BE CAREFUL of discount places. Stores or small booths that say "DISCOUNT TICKETS" don't always work. This is what happened when I bought a ticket from there: I entered the store and the worker told me that I was buying someone else's pass and that I was using it like if I went there before and this was my last day. Something like that, it was very confusing. It all seemed pretty legit. They told me if anything went wrong that I could get a refund and everything like that so that was what made me buy it. I went and when they scanned my card they sent me to customer service and they asked me questions of how I got this and if the card was mine. They confiscated the card. And I told them the truth of how I got it and they told me that those stores can be scams. So my time was wasted and I went back to the place and got my money back and just went back to the park and bought a ticket there. Not all places are like this but still be careful if you do buy a ticket from places like these.
  • If you're impatient buy Express pass to skip the lines. The lines will be long on busy days. But to me its not really worth it sometimes. I feel like you can have fun talking in lines. Maybe just me...
  • If you use American Express or an AAA member you get 10% off food purchases.
  • If you want to save even more money, stay at a partner hotel that gives you benefits for staying with them. They will give you special discounts for the park.
  • Get VIP if you are really impatient and want the special treatment. It is pricey. But, you get to skip the lines and enter the rides through the back entry ways, valet parking, gourmet lunch, go to areas that aren't open to the public like the prop warehouse, special discounts, personal guided tour of the park etc.
  • Print or Download the maps before you go to the park, so you have a overview on what you want to do before you get there.  https://www.universalorlando.com/Resort-Information/Theme-Park-Maps.aspx this link is where you can download them.
RIDES:
Universal has only two fast roller coasters: Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and Revenge of the Mummy.
The Rip Ride Rockit is a pretty big roller coaster that allows you to listen to music while riding! Cool right? They give you four genres of music to select from and a few songs to select from that genre.

Revenge of the mummy is considered a roller coaster but it doesn't compare to the Rip Ride Rockit. It's fast and jerks you around a lot so I wouldn't recommend it for someone who has back or neck problems. So for your moms, dads, grandmas or grandpas, not the best ride. But it is a fun ride.

Universal has 10 rides for all ages, appealing more for families and kids. They are more like calmer rides than the two above. On these rides your on a cart and moving through the tracks.
The rides are:
Men in Black Alien Attack: You go in a cart and try to shoot the bad aliens as much as possible for points.

Shrek 4-D: You go into a theater and watch a 4-D show.
The Simpsons Ride: You go inside a cart and watch a screen while the cart moves around like you would be experiencing whats is going on on the screen.
Terminator 2 3-D: You go into a theater and watch a 3-D performance
E.T Adventure Ride: You go on a bicycle and travel through E.T's planet
Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts: You go into a cart that takes you through the perils of the Gringotts vaults.
Despicable Me Minion Mayhem: You go into a cart and ride 3-d into Gru's home where you're recruited for his latest scheme- one where you'll become an actual minion.
Kang & Kodos' Twirl 'n' Hurl: Go on a spaceship that takes you into orbit.
TWISTER...Ride It Out: Go into a stage and experience what it's like to be a real storm chaser.
Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster: You go on a kid-sized roller coaster.
